DERMALOG finger mark scanner ZF1 for German inhabitant reporting offices supplies
(openPR) - the Federal Office for security in the information technology (BSI) certified the finger mark Live-scanner DERMALOG ZF1 according to the standard TR-PDÜ. The equipment is thus qualified for the use in connection with storage by finger marks in German ePass. The ZF1 is used starting from November in German inhabitant reporting offices.
Hamburg, 28 February 2007 - like the DERMALOG identification of system GmbH with head office in Hamburg today admits gave, its finger mark Live-scanner ZF1 in the future in German inhabitant reporting offices is used. It serves parts over 5.000 local authorities for the collection of the two index finger castings, which are stored starting from November 2007 in the second generation of the German ePass additionally to the digital passport photo. The order for the supply of the hardware was given DERMALOG by federal printering. The basis of the decision of federal printering for DERMALOG forms certifying the ZF1 according to the BSI standard TR-PDÜ for finger mark devices, which took place in January.

The live-scanner ZF1 is the smallest optical finger mark scanner for the admission of flat presented single fingers. It is conceived for the employment with civilian applications for the identification and verification by finger mark. Its ergonomic Design provides for high user friendliness: the finger is presented intuitively in the correct position. As world-wide the first optical finger mark scanner the ZF1 has a living person identification, which can automatically prevent a use of falsified finger marks. By the small file size of the finger mark picture of only 10 kilobyte in the format WSQ the ZF1 is suitable optimally for the use in combination with RFID applications, how they are used also in German ePass.
