Professor Dr. Dr. h. C. Bernhard Casper (Freiburg/break)
(openPR) - at the Benediktbeurer Thomas academy it concerned Bernhard Welte (1906-1983)
In each case to the beginning of the year the philosophical-theological university (PTH) organizes the Salesianer Don Boscos Benediktbeuern one - after hl. Thomas's von Aquin († 1274) designated - academic ceremony: the Thomas academy. As an adviser theologian Professor Dr. Dr. h could in this year of the Freiburger. C. Bernhard Casper to be won, that itself on Monday, 15 January 2007, under which title” who loves God, must all dear “with the life and the meaning Bernhard Weltes (1906-1983) employed. Approximately 60 listeners found the way into the baroque hall of the monastery Benediktbeuern.
Against at the beginning of its remarks Casper placed some biographic information. In Messkirch (between Swabian Alb and Bodensee) the Welte his studies in Freiburg completed born priests and religion philosopher, which was considered at that time as place of modern philosophy. Here among other things the Phänomenologe Edmund Husserl (the teacher Edith of stone) and the existence philosopher Martin Heidegger taught. Welte took up their new ideas and set it with classical Christian philosophy in connection.
According to Welte mean the existence of humans that this always already strives for somewhat, goes beyond itself and open possibilities has. Human striving on an unlimited luck pushes however at borders. In the long run” infinite hunger “and” death constituted the playing field of the life as border “. Thus arise the philosophical question about God, and humans go on an extreme sense, which blows up all understandable one.
With help of the categories of modern philosophy, so further, a new understanding of the old faith is possible for Casper. Welte gives answers on the general Sinnlosigkeitsverdacht to the postmodernism, by opening the Biblical faith again. Mean faith in God at the same time faith in everything. This has consequences for handling the creation, since also the environmental ethics becomes a task of the faith. Welte engaged itself from this consciousness socially and universitypolitically, without being however a man of the loud and revolutionary tones.
