For the Zähringerstadt as location energy was decisive the open-mindedness and the commitment of mayor Joachim shoemaker and the local council for the Stoltenberg. The reduction of the river is regulated in the renewable energy law and must take place via the power supplier for 15 cent per kilowatt-hour. River is won in Geothermie power stations either over the evaporation of an ammonia liquor mixture (potash well process) or over the evaporation of an organic solvent (ORC process). Doelling: „In new castle we decided due to the relatively low temperature of the water of 130 degrees Celsius, which can be expected, for the potash well technology, which works in this temperature range more efficiently “.

A further important point for economy is the quantity of water. In new castle the project planners proceed from a long-term pouring of 80 litres per second. Already three geological appraisals were provided in the Zähringerstadt. „As soon as the financing stands, begins within 24 months the drillings, the power plant construction and the building of the Fernwärmenetzess “, Robert Doelling says. The planned electrical achievement of the power station is with four megawatts, the thermal with 20 megawatts.
