Switzerland: Chemicals - regulation is your-genuinly adapted

Switzerland adapts chemical right to European Union (openPR) - in August 2005 in Switzerland the chemical risk reduction regulation (ChemRRV) stepped into force. Since that time in the European Union various editions for the delivery of certain chemicals and chemikalienhaltigen products were changed. On 15 December 2006 the Upper House of Parliament decided to bring the ChemRRV with your conditions in agreement. Thus guaranteed that again unwanted barriers to trade do not develop, reports the industry magazine EUROPATICKER environmental call (www.europaticker.de).

The adjustment makes possible:

• More protection for environment and health: So for example the poisonous solvent toluol in spray colors and adhesives may not be used in the future no more in products, which are intended for the broad public. Besides for the content, the strict limit value new in softener oils, which for the production of motor-car tires are used, is specified to krebserregenden polycyclischen aromatics. It will arrive therefore less from this pollutant by tire abrasion into the environment.

• Simplifications for the economy by additional exceptions with the valid heavy metal prohibitions in electrical appliances and vehicles as well as their construction units. In Switzerland and in the European Union heavy metals in vehicles as well as electrical and electronics devices are forbidden. Exceptions apply to materials and construction units, for which still no heavy metal-free replacement could be developed.

The chemical right consists of several laws and regulations:
