Common position to the future fishery politics (openPR) - EUROPATICKER environmental call (www.europaticketr.de): The north Germans of Lands of the Federal Republic Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein started a common initiative for conscious fishery politics. This concerns the first raid of this kind, in which on initiative of Schleswig-Holstein all Lands of the Federal Republic which were located at north and Baltic Sea take part.

While with the federation in Berlin the responsible Ministers Dr. Till baking house (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) placed, Dr. Christian von Boetticher (Schleswig-Holstein) to a common meeting in the federal state representation of Hamburg, Hans Heinrich Ehlen (Lower Saxony) as well as senator Jörg Kastendiek (Bremen) and office leader Werner Proksch (Hamburg) its objectives forwards, which summarized it in a common north German position.

The north Germans of coastal countries demand comprehensive catalog a reorientation of the fishery politics in the north and Baltic Sea area in that nine points. They aim at better future prospects for Fischer, more and safe jobs in the fishery sector as well as the durable supply of the population with the healthy food fish. In order to achieve these goals, the five Lands of the Federal Republic demand among other things a lasting use of the fish existence, more effective fishery controls, an intensified fishery research, the stabilization of the aquaculture, less and more transparent regulations on level of the European Union as well as the consideration of the climatic change also in the fishery politics. They express criticism in particular at the European Union fishery politics: Like that in the meantime many existence are over-fished and in critical state, the penetration of controls are unsatisfactory, while the number of the regulations becomes constantly more extensive.

Of Schleswig-Holstein Minister Dr. Christian von Boetticher it underlined that the north Germans of Lands of the Federal Republic would have to articulate themselves as unit, in order to achieve their common objectives. The coastal countries wanted to contribute as critical partners of the Federal Government to an advancement of the fishery politics on European level. The Minister main header thereby the meaning of a long-term strategy out, in order to secure the fishery durably.

Of Boetticher said: “A policy can be considered as conscious only if it feels obligated the principle of the lastingness. For me it is completely clear that the following conditions, which we observe today can be not lasting: Overfishing, existence emergency of Fischern and losses of one's job in the fish processing. Conscious fishery politics hold the ecological, economic and social aspects of the fishery equally in the view.”

In addition Christian von Boetticher dealt with the climatic change, which will have in the future ever stronger influence also on the fishery “, for example on the kind composition and distribution in waters. New kinds immigrate to north and Baltic Sea, other kinds decrease/go back. To this change the fishery in addition, the inventory management must adjust themselves. But urgently reliable information is needed. The north Germans of countries consider therefore an intensified research within this range necessary and request the European Union to consider the climatic change accordingly”, so the Kieler Minister.

For Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Minister underlined Dr. Till baking house: “To the receipt of a competitive Fischereiflotte a regular renewal is essential. Only by it the enormous potentials of the technological progress can also regarding the energy efficiency, which environmental protection and the industrial safety are used. From own Kraft many Fischer and above all existence founders are however not in view of the high capital outlays in addition able.”

In this connection the Minister referred to an interesting project in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Since the measures of the European union met so far led to no improvement of the Dorschbestände of the Baltic Sea, a project was compiled there for the development of a aquaculture-supported Dorschfischerei. “This project was already presented on the occasion of the last German fishery daily in Schwerin in its fundamentals of the public. It is to support the efforts of the European union to bring the Dorschbestände in the western Baltic Sea by purposeful trimming with artificially drawn up young fish back into a better condition.

A goal is, the development of a aquaculture-supported Dorschfischerei, those the requirements after lastingness, environmental compatibility, preservation of the diversity of species, animal health and food security becomes in particular fair ", thus Till baking house. Of Bremen restaurant economics Jörg Kastendiek demanded from the European Union the further dismantling of import duties on fish products. “In view of of 10.000 jobs in the fish-processing industry this is long overdue. All five north Germans of countries stress the meaning of the fishery in their position paper as part of the identity in the north and their meaning for the regional economy and the tourism. They avowed, their fishery-political activities in the future more strongly in the sense of the objectives mentioned align and to coordinate among themselves to want.
